# What a custom library ladder costs

## Price ranges by set-up

A wrought-iron ladder with a rail comes in between 1,900 and 4,200 euros incl. VAT depending on the set-up, rail included. The table takes common cases, all made to order in France.

## Price per metre of rail by finish

The rail is charged per linear metre, and its price varies mostly with the finish, from 95 to 260 euros a metre. The table shows an exposed round-tube rail, brackets included.

## Options and extras
   Platform
From 180 to 320 euros: a small platform at the top of the ladder for reading on the spot.
   Brass wheels

   Curved corner rail
From 350 to 600 euros per corner, to go from one wall to the next with the same ladder.
   Installation on site
Priced in the quote by region and access. Alternative: a fixing plan for your carpenter.

## What moves the price

Height weighs first: the taller the ladder, the longer the uprights and the stronger the structure. Rail length follows, then finish, where brass weighs most. Finally, custom parts (curved rail, platform) add to the base. A shorter ladder on a shorter rail can cost less than half of a large decorative set-up.

## Lead times

Six to eight weeks after the plans are approved, a week more for the survey. Production starts on order, with no stock: each ladder is forged for one project. Lead times depend on workshop load and are confirmed in the quote.
